| God Healed My Knees (There is power in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us that at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord) My family has what one might call “generational curses.” We have a history of bone issues. Our knees tend to become delicate after the age of fifty. Some of our offspring have been known to suffer with knee problems at very early ages. Through the years, I have seen aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents walk as if they were experiencing awful pain when trying to move their knees. It appears as though they cannot bend the knees properly. Several have undergone knee surgery. The problem when having knee surgery is there is no guarantee the knees will come out better after the surgery. And then, even if the doctor proclaim success, the problem tends to recur a few years later. I have seen this physical degeneration happen from my childhood to present. Never did I even think I would experience a problem with my knees. One day while attempting to bend, I noticed there was a stiffness while trying to move my knees. I passed it off as being a little bit of maybe too much exercise or something to that effect . I shrugged it off and went on about my day. A few weeks later, I noticed the same thing occurring when walking up the stairs at work. Okay, I thought to myself, there was no way I was having a knee problem. I was not about to claim this ailment. So once again, I just discounted it as a passing issue. A few weeks later, I was vacationing in Jacksonville, Florida. While there, my husband and I decided to look at some property. We were maybe considering moving to the area and wanted to see what the homes looked like in our price range. One subdivision offered a very promising range of homes in our price range and the square footage along with several amenities were very attractive.. We looked at several homes, some of which were two story. I must say the two story homes were the ones I was drawn to. When we first began to look at the homes, we started at the ground floor and then headed upstairs. As I took my first step to head up the stairs, my right knee seemed to completely give out. The pain was intense and I immediately gave out a little indication of pain. When my husband approached to see what was happening, I explained the issue with my knee and expressed I was not going to be able to walk up the stairs. My husband offered to carry me, but I felt a little concerned about his trying to do this for the number of homes we planned to see. After a few minutes I realized I could make it if I did not bend my knee, turn sideways and move up the stairs very carefully making sure the knee was not bent at any time. By doing this, I was able to get through our house search. It was somewhat difficult, but I made it. The problem with my knees became progressively worse over the next few months. I love the Lord and I know if you ask Him, He will answer. If you have faith, He will provide. I will often throughout the day pray. With each prayer, I lift my hands to Heaven and proclaim the power of my God. While praying, I am very careful to tell my Savior how much I love Him. I also remind Him of His word. There is power in the name of Jesus. My Lord tells us in John 16:23-28, “Until now, you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language, but will tell you plainly about My Father. In that day, you will ask in My name. I am not saying I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” In this passage, our Lord Jesus is telling us that as long as we ask anything in the name of Jesus, our God shall provide. So when I pray and ask the Father for anything, I ask in the name of His Son Jesus. I hear from God when I least expect it. For several months after I realized my knee was going out, I prayed for healing. Now if you believe, have faith and ask in the name of the Son, God will answer your prayer. The problem with my knees went on for approximately seven months; Beginning sometime around the first of the year in 2003. On a Tuesday morning in November that same year, I heard from God. I was lying on my couch watching television. The Holy Spirit came to me and told me to get up and go into my kitchen. I love the Lord and I am obedient, but sometimes I question if I am really hearing from God. So, I asked if I was really being told to move. The Holy Spirit once again told me to move into my kitchen. This time, I moved. My question to myself was, “why on earth was I to go into the kitchen?” But, I did as instructed. I walked into my kitchen and muttered something to the effect of , “okay I am in the kitchen, what do you want me to do now? Just as I reached an area in my kitchen that was somewhat close, the Spirit told me to go down. Before I go on, let me explain something. One of the things I believe is that we must go down in prayer in honor of and to glorify God. We must bow down before Him showing Him the highest respect. When I prayed to Him asking for healing in my knees, I also reminded Him that I wanted to assure that I bow down in praise and worship of Him. As I went down on my knees, I realized this was the time of healing. God had healed my knees. I went down on my knees and came right back up as if there was no problem with my knees whatsoever. Since that day, I have had no problem going up, down, around stairs. I can bow down with no problem and rise back up without hesitation. My God is awesome. I Love the Lord God with all my heart, mind, body and soul. I trust in Him and each day, all day, I make sure He hears me tell Him how much I love Him. |
